What is Flex? Flex is our new solution for contractors, allowing you to work flexibly between your Limited Company and an Umbrella solution depending on the IR35 status of your current assignment.
Is Flex right for me? Flex is suitable for Contractors who expect to accept contracts with a mixture of IR35 statuses - inside and outside and will require the use of both a Limited Company and Umbrella Employment.
How does Flex impact my IR35 status? Flex does not change your IR35 status, it a solution aimed at providing contractors with an easy way of moving between Umbrella employment and Limited company working depending on your IR35 status.
How long does it take to join Flex? The process is simple and takes approximately 24-48 hours. The joining process can be completed through Connect if you are a Brookson customer or with our Specialist Advisors if you are new to Brookson.

By joining Flex, will I be a director and an umbrella employee? Yes. By joining Flex, you will be an employee of Brookson’s umbrella solution whilst remaining a Director of your Limited Company
If I join Flex would this leave my company without a Director? No. Limited Company Directors and Shareholders are registered on company’s house and this is updated annually via a confirmation statement. This is completely separate to a payroll scheme.
Can I keep my limited company open if I’m working via an umbrella solution? Yes, if you believe that you will need to utilise your Limited Company in the near future then using Flex and putting it into non-trade status may be a cost-effective solution compared with going through cessation.
